About Alyssa Zeff

Alyssa brings more than 20 years of both agency and in-house communication experience to her role in the consulting group at Davis & Company. She offers strategic counsel, communication planning, project management and creative implementation skills to clients, including BlackRock, BD, Dicom and American Water.

Prior to joining Davis & Company, Alyssa was the senior director, global corporate communications and public relations for BD, a leading global medical technology company, where she oversaw all internal communications, corporate communications and public relations worldwide. Her career began at PR agencies in New York City where she promoted leading sports, consumer, food and healthcare brands.

Alyssa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications studies from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.

What is the most satisfying project you’ve worked on?
Helping a large pharmaceutical company simplify and humanize their compliance communication.

Who (or what) inspires you in your work?
My co-workers. They consistently push me to be smarter and more creative. And they make me laugh every day.

What was your first job?
Babysitter. 

What's your go-to app?
WhatsApp. I am active with several different groups of friends and I love the regular updates and laughs.

What’s your greatest achievement?
Motherhood.

What’s your favorite type of project to work on?
Communication planning/system development. No two organizations are the same so it requires creativity and smart thinking each time.

What’s your secret for overcoming writer’s block?
Take a break and walk away. Do a puzzle or play a short game to activate my brain.

What do you like to do on the weekends?
Hang out with my son or play golf.

What scares you?
Spiders and snakes.

What’s your favorite song?
Head Full of Doubt, Road Full of Promise by The Avett Brothers.

Red Tailed Hawk. Sees situations from a higher perspective. Focus. Determination.
