Q&A with Laura Umbach
What is the most satisfying or memorable project you’ve worked on?
It’s hard to pick just one. I love when I work on a project from concept to final execution. I like to be part of the brainstorming process and take it all the way to its finalized reveal to the world. It’s extremely satisfying to look at something I created and know I helped mold it into what it is in the end. Especially something that needs to be physically fabricated. And of course, positive feedback is very satisfying as well!
Who (or what) inspires you in your work?
I get inspiration from all over. It can be viewing other artists’ work, reading about new and exciting happenings in the design world, or even things in the real world can spark inspiration.

Germany. My father’s family is German, and I didn’t grow up around them. I loved traveling to Germany with them and learning a lot about my heritage and ancestors. It’s an amazing, beautiful country!
