It’s only Monday morning and you’re probably already running behind . . . such a long to-do list, so many meetings and so little time to get everything done!
But step off the treadmill, take a deep cleansing breath and spend five minutes thinking about this: The simplest, most effective way to be successful this week is to take control of at least some of your time.
Take Tuesday, for instance. If you’re like me, you’ve already got most of the day allotted. There are the usual standing meetings. Other meetings you’ve been invited to (but you may not know why). Meetings you called because you’re trying to move a project along.
Hopefully there are a few one- or two-hour slots that aren’t yet scheduled. So here’s what you need to do right now: Book a “meeting” with yourself to reserve an hour or two.
What are you going to do with the time? Work on something that matters to you and will contribute to your success. For instance:
The idea is simple. By protecting your time, you will make sure you do something significant this week. Do it again next week and the week after, and you’ll really be making progress. Continue devoting time to what matters, and success is assured.
Have a great (and productive) week!
