Americans are watching more and more online video. Nielsen just released a new study that shows that online video usage is up considerably from the same time last year: in fact, Americans are spending 45% more time online.

The most popular site is—no surprise—YouTube, but the interesting fact is Americans watch video in a variety of places, including Facebook, Yahoo!, Hulu and Netflix.

What does this mean to you? If video isn’t part of your internal communication strategy, it should be. As employees become more comfortable with video at home, they will expect it to be part of their communication experience at work.
