Press release
January 26, 2009
Alison Davis, company founder and communication expert, delivered an interactive learning session Saturday, January 31, on reaching and engaging audiences as part of the 2009 Schering-Plough Executive Lecture series for students in the Fairleigh Dickinson University Masters in Corporate and Organizational Communication program.
The series, sponsored by an endowment from Schering-Plough Corporation, offers students a unique opportunity to listen to and interact with national and international leaders in corporate communication, business and media.
Drawing on her extensive experience helping clients reach busy, distracted audiences and the attention-getting techniques she describes in her book, Your Attention, Please (Adams Business, 2006), Alison shared with students a dramatically different approach for appealing to information-overloaded readers and getting communication read. Student participants also had the opportunity to discuss their challenges and get coaching from Alison on how to make changes in the way they communicate that cut through the clutter and focus communication on meeting audiences' needs.
